Racism in media isn’t just one off fiction, it’s still racism. This reminds me of “The Paradox of Tolerance.” It goes like this: If everyone is tolerant of every idea, then intolerant ideas will emerge. Tolerant people will tolerate this intolerance, and the intolerant people will not tolerate the tolerant people.
This means that tolerating something like racism, pedophila, etc even in media/ fiction won’t do us as a society any good.
I don’t care HOW good a story WAS or how big the author’s dream. Spreading misinformation about POC only leads to bigotry and hate towards those oppressed groups.
An example would be Yandere Dev. Loved the game for YEARS and he definitely had determination to finish his game. He later turned out to be a pedophile going after someone as young as 9, NINE. What you create reflects YOU as a person and clearly the person who created this has a bigoted view of black people.
As someone who is black myself I am SICK of white people excusing the actions of their favorite artists just because you like them. That is your ONLY excuse and you’re JUST as bad as them for continuing to support their bigotry. The only reason you don’t want it to get canceled is not bc you care abt how long the creator spent but YOUR bedtime story. I CARE bc it actively harms me and people like me. You’re pathetic.
As a black person myself (thought I can't proof I'm black so you'll just have to take it at face value) I am not offended one bit. I understand it's fiction and I'll never blur the line between fiction and reality. We are allowed to our own opinion and feelings so please don't try to push your ideology on everyone. Even going as far as calling them pathetic, get off your high horse.
Totally agree with you, everyone is making a fuss because the character is black, but in reality there is a lot of black racists that take advantage of the color of their skin, and it shouldn’t be justified because of your color, at the end of the day is still racism

Nah it dosen't. So just be careful of what you assume of reality when talking about fiction because the same can be thrown back at you as what you read/watch reflects YOU as a person which it dosen't. I think they should have just rewitten that chapter and kept the story going. The chapter was insensitive and wasn't delivered properly to depict the premise of the story as a whole which is bullies getting punished. It doesn't make the author a racist irl. I bet they were going for the shock n awe approach like look how edgy this was done...but they went a bit too far using the N-word. That's all.

Reality affects fiction whether you like it or not. You’re using the same excuse incels use to defend their loli porn addiction. The media you consume and/or make reflect you and your beliefs. The creator of Shrek having the dragon having sex with a donkey is comedy and CLEARLY isn’t supposed to be taken seriously. The creator of Game of Thrones with incestuous mass murder reflects how people were during the period the show is based upon. BOTH are made for ENTERTAINMENT and to further the plot of the story (tho I feel the incestuous sex scenes of Game of Thrones unnecessary, I digress) The author of this story made an unnecessary and uneducated decision to use the N-Word against a POC (Even tho he was being racist, fighting racism with racism isn’t how any of that works and no shit anybody can be racist but this was executed BAD.) and is meant to be taken seriously.

I’ve never read the webtoon but I did see that particular chapter when it was getting popular on TikTok. The whole premise is about adults beating the fuck out of kids and anti-feminism and yet y’all are calling this peak fiction??? I’ve seen this from MANY readers as well. Not only that but the design for the black character in general is such a caricature, it’s atrocious. It wasn’t even just the N-word being used but they continued to call him a monkey and make monkey sounds??? Also calling his skin color atrocious??? What do you MEAN the author isn’t racist???
The feminist character in around chapter 45 compared to the other female characters is clearly propaganda against feminism, and any women against sexism. She’s thicker and “uglier” to make it so readers will think her opinion (and other “ugly” characters, such as the black person from that most recent chapter) won’t matter while having the good looking characters shame them so they (and their views) can be put in a good light.
I hope this author rots in a pit because this Webtoon is nothing but conservative propaganda and pushes very negative views and stereotypes that clearly win over you guys head.

I just don't understand why people are arguing about the new episodes. It's the author's creation so they can do whatever they want. And if someone dosent want to read, then they can just delete it from their library or just stop reading.
