i don't like what the mother, yeonie, did. I think it was a dumb move to disappear from the face of the earth, abandon your young son w a father that doesn't consider him as his son, and almost leave nothing behind.
Was she remorseful of the things she did with her powers? Yes, she did. Did she handle it properly? Not really. That's my problem w her.
Instead of finding a way to stop Boknam's power, she never tried to raise Boknam in order to guide him . Maybe if she stayed (instead of leaving to find a solution), Boknam would grew up w atleast a parent who unconditionally loves him. He would be more aware and careful once he learned the origin of his powers, instead of using it in every chance he gets, thus wasting his lifespan. He could've live almost as a normal w an adult figure who can guide him.
Yes, she has limited time so she'll probably will only be there for Boknam until he's around middle school, but I think that's enough time for him to learn. Yes, she may not be the most competent person to raise Boknam (like how useless boknam was once he can't use powers). But isn't that a better alternative than leaving Boknam unaware of the truth of his powers and wasting his life force away for almost three decades? If she truly loves him, she won't risk of having him use his powers recklessly. And even if she had no choice, even leaving a letter behind about the origin of their powers would suffice for him to know and be more mindful in using his power.
