I think we feel bad for takaya bc he isn't a bad person and he's held a torch for akane for years. But this is my personal onion (yes I said onion), I think yamada is more worried about another guy overstepping and hurting akane than him being jealous just based on past experiences. And maybe SHOWING he's a good boyfriend might put her friends at ease and make takaya give up.
OKAY, I'M 1000% TEAM YAMADA, NO QUESTIONS ON THAT but dammit, poor Takaya! Anyway, I don't feel like he's unreasonable to cause problems for our OTP. Maybe just slight jealousy on Yamada's part lol. I love the dad's expressions this chapter of all the characters, he is the most informed!
