Just to put it out there, it was a backstabbing ! Our MC isn’t dumb he was just amongst enemies both in and out.
I can confirm that your last sentence is correct
He was setup
The agency heads were corrupt and wanted him gone.
So on the first few chapters, When our mc was looking at his phone To see who his partner was ..Was the picture actually the ml or was it that the agency(?) send a wrong picture(I don't think they would accidently send the mc the wrong pic tho.. considering how important it is) OR the agency just hate our mc and wanted to kill him?
