Not justifying their actions but limited knowledge does exist (an example would be strict countries like china that seclude their citizens from the “outside media”, another example is japan who’s still in denial of their past actions so most people there don’t know their “dark history”). Just saying because I've been seeing alot of western people expecting non-western to know everything about them. Heck i was one of them because i’m from an asia country where the n word literally just means the color black w/o any “slave/black/american” history and we even have a place named n word but no one mocks it.
I stand by what the one who published the apology said tho and their comment about it, if they didn’t know about it in the first place then it’s better if they just didn’t wrote about it.
Of course limited knowledge exists i agree but korean idols are on blast every year for using the n word and korean people do know about how blacks are looked down upon in korea and there also other things to consider too like how the writers research bullying cases in korea to write these chapters as weve seen in previous chapters (msot pf these events happen irl and went viral so im geussing they research it to be even writing about it) also it doesnt take a genius to realise that the amount of blacks in korea is close not nonexistent (for a reason) and most foreigners are chinese/eastasian so to make this statement of "oh the blacks are taking over korea, their multiplying and the koreans in rural areas are being taken over by them" is WILD bc black poeple are the ones getting bullied for their complexion, hair ,style culture and just everything so to sit there on ur computer actively writing a story about a "pure" korean geting bullied by a blasian kid who is all tough and bad is the worst possible way to show racism and bullying
Also
He didnt just say the n word 3 times WITH the intend to hurt a blasian character he also wrote "coffee beanpicking things" now if u think that that comment is acceptable even with "limited knowledge" thats just a you problem and also people love to throw the word "westerners" whenever its about racism online but im not even american..im dutch and these racist things happen everwhere like in my country we had white people paint their faces black and called themselves "zwarte(black) piet" and this wasnt adressed untill wayyy later and people still had the audacity to say it was culture so yeah maybe westerners cry racism too much sometimes but its still valid when it comes from the black community themselves
lol yeah still read some of it but yeah i agree. the get schooled team should've just apologized for it. like you said- limited knowledge does exist but why are koreans being racist so common? (it's not just to black people, but also to other races aswell. for ex: filipinos and western features) the answer is probably because it's normalized there. heck, it's not just racism, beauty privileges, but also bullying-- heck that's why there are so many korean series that talk about these issues but it's ironic that this webcomic is about that and then they show THIS.
if the slur calling and racist part hadn't happened, and the sub teacher (white hair) had a different method of "teaching" this would've been better

Limited knowledge" PEOPLE ALWAYS DO THIS u have the internet for a reason koreans even have the korean version of nword how do u not know it shows how little they actually care and just wanna get this over with
