Damn she was straight up dumb like her close maid and mom was trying to tell her he would use you… I lowkey wish the story was about the mom she seems so much more badass and smarter than the female lead.

I kind of like it, it's a relatively accurate portrayal of an abusive family dynamic. The father controls his wife and child, by purposely tainting the relationship between them. He controls his wife by restricting her privileges to see her child and holds the child's physical well-being as blackmail. He controls his child by not letting the mom actively see her child, thus making the child feel like they've been abandoned and aren't loved. Therefore forcing the child to seek additional love and comfort from their father. We see this in real life quite often with narcissistic parents and those who use their children as ways to control and f over their partners.

Yeah, rather than dumb. It's more accurate to say that she was naive and being a child with a dysfunctional family, her perception of everything was skewed and controlled by her father. It was manipulated from the very beginning so it's right that she didn't believe what the maid or mother said since her father treated her very well in her perspective

I thought it stated that in the webtoon. Plus wasn’t there a rumor how everyone thinks her mom bought her dad because she’s so rich

So in the webtoon, the mother is known as a wealthy merchant who comes from commoners (therefore she's looked down upon because of her status and dealing with and directly working with money is considered 'dirty'). The rumour that she 'bought her husband with gold' stems from the idea that wealthy commoners used to buy titles or wed into noble families for titles (Ie. nouveau riche or new money rich vs old money rich). Overall, they are making fun of her for having a loveless marriage that's on par with being a business transaction because she HAD to buy her title and she has nothing to offer to her marriage but her 'dirty' money (because old wealth looks down on new wealth). That's why the rumour is 'confirmed' by them openly despising each other (it confirms there is no love between them and it's only about money- which in noble societies is considered greedy and shameful (which is ironic because they care about wealth and status and the 'uniting of families' but they consider directly touching money and working with money dirty, that's also why they exchange stuff through dowery's and not just making it a separate business transaction)).

In her 1st life, she operated on the assumptions that her father loved her mom and that her mom was an emotionally distant and selfish adulterer. Therefore she thought the mom was the greedy one who just used her father for his title. All she saw was a loving father who showered her with gifts and affection and was left behind by his wife.
But in her 2nd life, she realized that the marriage was a loveless one (business transaction but worse) and it was actually her dad who was abusive.
The twist is the father is actually broke, so HE'S the one who needed the mom not vice versa and HE was the greedy one. They only find out later when the mom tries the divorce and takes the MC with her. The dad then freaks because he needs her money and tries to sue her for a crap ton of alimony. The mom never got a divorce in the 1st life and only ran away with her lover, so it was never exposed that the father was broke before. Therefore the MC never knew they were living off only the mom's wealth and not the dad's.
