He might have taken the blame for his father, though. That seems to be the implication at the end of the chapter.
I doubt, the author would seriously go down that dark dark road of having MC end up with a pedophile, killer and rapist. Many BL fans are willing to forgive a lot in a red flag ML, no matter how scummy he might behave (in the beginning), but I am convinced, most of us draw the line at a pedophile, who rapes and murders children, as the ML.
Also, if he were a pedopile, he wouldn't have any interest in the MC, Too old....
I think any author would go that far, and people are fucked up.. any person that is messed up in the head would forgive a child rapist so I’m pretty sure it’s not his imagination or whatever he’s actually a child molester. But that’s what I think :,)
