Jumbo said he hates doing this after "killing" Finny, Doll was scared and was hesitating from killing the police officer, and when Joker announced that they need more sweets they all looked upset. Joker at the end said " we knew what we were doing was wrong but we couldn't stop". They couldn't stop because they were afraid of their father and they felt indebted to him.
