I haven't read the novel but I have two possible guesses
1- The story between Ranon and Anya was told by other people so it was just a matter of time that people will twist the story with their own speculations. We can actually see ghost Ranon trying to do something in the current time line, we don't know yet but I feel it has something to do with freeing Anya soul
2- From the beginning Anya was controlled by "fate" or whatever we called the entity that posses her body every one in a while. But its not only Anya, it also posses Ranon as well
I believe is a mixture of this two and how in a lot of situations they were being controlled and because this there was no space for communication. Again this is only my guess because I also feel Ranon loves Anya. I also believe he used from the start but started to fell in love with her eventually.
in the novel, it seem like ranon was just using anya and didn’t love her at all, but here it seems like he genuinely cares for her?
Did they change the story or smth?
