Someone doesn't know how scalpels work~~

The blades don't stick on the end like that, or at least not for the kind she made. That hole in the blade is where a disposable blade is supposed to snap into a handle. Permanent/sanitizable scalpels should be completely solid lol

Oh are there a difference between them wouldn't it be easier to use the permanent one instead of replacing the blades often

The difference is one has to be cleaned and sterilized more carefully, while the disposable one you just throw out the blade. It's more sanitary. The big thing here is you shouldn't have a giant gaping hole in something that's supposed to be going in someone.

Wait you said disposing the blades would be more sanitary but isn't it unsanitary like I understand needles but knife I don't know wouldn't it be dangerous just leaving bloody and possibly contaminated knives

Typically, we use disposable blades that we attach onto sanitized handles. If you use the attached version, that is a full on blade that has to go through the sanitization process, much more dangerous and time consuming.

Ah okay thanks for the info
Also what's the sanitization process like I know that gamma machines are used
Also sort for asking so many questions

No worries! I'm less educated on the sanitization process, I work with disposable scalpels for my job. I'm pretty sure the process for used wares in the hospital is some sort of washing process followed by steam sanitization, then some kind of gamma/uv based sterilization before the equipment is usable again.
