Initially it was but I don't think it's now. Both protagonists are not in their right mind.
If Jaekyung loses . It's going to hell road travels for Dan.
I’d argue that it wasn’t a romance because Dan hasn’t felt good about sex with him this entire time. And it wasn’t until a chapter ago that he questioned his own feelings after he was told that Jaekyoung probably likes him. Jaekyoung only ever did “nice” things for Dan only for the sole purpose that it benefited himself and made his life easier.
No no I'm not mentioning physical pleasure , initial setting was the key here.
Mostly these (Rich Seme & Pauper Uke) stories rise up with same tone.
Although its not romance , but I put them in the category of romance coz after time skip they fall in love unfortunately. So I thought it's gonna happen same with this too . But not anymore , not anymore.

Oh yeah! I see what you mean. I hope they don’t fall in love but unfortunately I have a feeling that’s what the author wants at some point. I honestly don’t know how that will happen, because I agree with you. These two characters are out of their minds there’s not much of a good chemistry between them.
It could said like "one is pissing everywhere, one is wiping everywhere" .
There's no chemistry , these two never had any proper conversation until now . If we forget about that tv scene where Dan asked him to use condom but this dude outright said no not gonna happen.
It's imminent both are going to get together but I don't see it happening now . It's a long road ahead of us .
Author should add one more tag of psychological.
Coz this ain't a romance story anymore.
