Tbf for Muqing, Jinyao’s family issue was not related to Yiyun. It was an internal family affair. They (the ones who are alive) didn’t even know why Jinyao is at and is fully supported by the He family, their rival family.
It's not related but his cousin did tried to use their relationship against him. Jinyao also talked to the He Family privately and proven himself to them in order to get their support and now his family get to see his value and saw that their company really needs him so they now stopped pestering him. I'm sure Muqing could have the He's support as well if he prove himself worthy of their daughter judging by grandpa He's reaction when he finally reason against his mom. They need to see that there's a limit to their useless needing to get whatever they want. With their attitude, it's obvious that they would someday use Lingwei's joblessness to bully her and pressure her into pleasing the He's to support her "husband" if she were to agree to them. He needs to see that as well.
I’m trying to remember what came first but yeah, Jinyao made it a priority to put Yiyun and the kids safety before anything else. Jinyao created his own path, acknowledging his strengths and weaknesses, then asked help on areas he was weak on. Who wouldn’t fall for that?! Lol.
But I would say at the least, Grandpa Feng was on Jinyao’s side with his relationship with Yi, sort of, until his death. Even great grandpa was. While in Muqing’s case, I feel like he has to fend for himself, his dad is also quite useless, unless he proves himself otherwise for the sake of his son.
Muqing is indeed weak compared to Jinyao. His family also seemed inferior than the two families. There's risk but I don't think it would be that much cuz he's basically the only one who made sense in that family lol. Also, I don't think his family would risk losing him as everyone of them are useless and even if his dad would try to take manage of the company again, there's a bigger chance that their shareholders would not allow this. They would either vote for a much better candidate or advice him to lick his son's peaches I'd say, he'll do the latter before the shareholders would tell him to do so. Muqing's not that much but his family holds him in higher regards than he actually worth that's why they dare act that way. They even thought Lingwei's the one who got lucky lololol. I think they would yield with just the thought of losing their "young, capable, handsome, CEO" son, the company, and the connection with the He Family that their son only got through his relentless efforts to pursue Lingwei. It would be great if Lingwei would also ignore him first so he'd stop being so weak and so his family could see he's not really the only option for her.
But honestly, I like Muqing's character. Even tho he's not as strong as our Jinyao, he got that spark in him. He just wanted the woman he loved for more than 5 years to love him back and start a family, and for her to accept him he is willing to do everything but still hold traditions. And he knew lingwei's family didn't like him very much except for YI, he is willing to do anything to keep her.

I like your comment because it gives out so much positivity, unfortunately a guy who's not strong enough to stand against his families so-called traditional values to respect his beloved's choice is going to be hesitant while making a lot of choices in the future, most of the time giving the beloved the short end of the stick with the excuse "I chose you against my family that time, so this time let's compromise." Most of the anti-muqing comment you'd see here are people who might have real-life experience with such wishy-washy guy.
But of course, this is only fiction, so we know author will make it an HE.
Muqing's mom just can't shut up. It took Jinyao leaving his entire family and company to be able to get to truly do what he wants and raise his very own family with his beloved Yi Yun. Would love to see Muqing doing exactly the same thing. His sister is as useless as his mom so she can't run the company, leaving the father (who can't even discipline his wife and daughter) unable to retire as he has no choice but to run the company. Muqing works hard for their company and yet he can't even get the woman he worked hard to get to marry him because of them. He could just use his talents for the right people. Even threatening them that he's to leave the family in order to pursue his love should crumble their stubbornness. The nerve of them asking a successful daughter of a family who's much more successful than them to not only downgrade herself but also be as useless as them. They only want to be connected to the He Family while taking their supposed daughter-in-law as a hostage and it's too obvious.
