Ahhhh yes disrespect her publicly by being unfaithful because she didn’t fall in love with him
Ines doesn’t care that Carcel slept with others and I don’t care that he slept with others. Carcel would be like a sinner and Ines would be like a Pharisee. Carcel’s behavior isn’t pure but he has a good heart. Ines behavior in this timeline seems pure but her heart has bad intention. So Carcel is plain to see and Ines is like a while beautiful grave that hides dead man’s bones. Shallow readers will only judge them by their behavior and not by their motives and whether their motives are good or bad.
Also, they call Carcel a cheater for sleeping with another person while engaged but won’t call Ines a cheater for sleeping with another man while engaged. Both a cheaters and the story acknowledges this.
Please tell me you’re not comparing the trauma she had to go through before deciding to run away with her lover and have a kid with him to Carcel being hurt that she didn’t like him and deciding to sleep around. They are not the same in any way. Ines has literally never pretended to even like him the way he wants her to, she’s waiting for him to cheat on her so they can get divorced lol. She chose him for that reason of course she doesn’t care if he cheats, doesn’t make it right though. I’m not saying she’s a good person I’m just saying I understand her decisions
Ines ran away with her lover? That guy was a complete stranger. She knew him for only 10 days. To hear you people talk, it’s like he wasn’t a stranger. She seduced a complete stranger to run away with him to escape Oscar. She knew nothing about him and even says that she was delusional. Author even said when she ran away with the stranger she didn’t love him. She was just giddy and excited. It’s over time that she came to love him. So this love story you’re talking about is Ines just using another man for her purpose just like she’s using Carcel right now.
Soooooooooo I have acknowledged that she’s not a good person, neither is Carcel dude. She’s traumatised, she lost her lover and her son why you guys acting like that’s not a big deal for her. She can’t be bothered with Carcel honestly and I can’t blame her for that after all Carcel is just a less evil version of his brother. Just coz he likes her does not mean he’s a good person, should she just shut up and like him back just coz he likes her?
What a good joke I’m reading. If Carcel isn’t a good person then Ines is worse. She would tell you she’s worse too because she is. You don’t know a thing about Ines. Ines thinks her brother is a good person too. I just find it so funny that you claim to like Ines and hate all the people she loves. Just wait and see the next few chapters. You think you know her but don’t.
The more I read the more I feel like Carcel’s sleeping around is justified in a way. I don’t think it was the “right” or “moral” thing to do considering he was technically engaged but it makes sense. He was in a forced engagement with someone that could care less about him and had his relationship freedom taken from him at a very young age. I can see how for him sex was the one thing in his life he had control over. I think it might be the fact that we got Ines’ pov first that so many still think Cárcel is irredeemable but had he been the main character there might not have been as much hate towards him. I read a novel with a female character having a slightly similar backstory as Cárcel who used sex as a means of feeling control in her life and people seemed to sympathize with her much more than I’ve seen for cárcel. That’s not to say I think Ines is an antagonist or horrible person in any way, she’s gone through horrific past lives that make her current actions make sense. I don’t think her manipulation and (seemingly) gaslighting of Cárcel is a good thing but given her past I can see why she does it.
I genuinely love both of these characters because they seem to be much more complex than you first expect.
