100% agree with you! It was obvious to me (without having even read the first story) that this was about two people with baggage using each other to cope/get over it.
All the points you made were clear to me too! The only thing I want is for us to have more than the side story to see them be together in this healed version of themselves

The story for me was a little cliche, i read lots of stories like this so that’s inevitable for me, but one thing i’ll point out is that the pacing of the story is very off, its not badly written, but there are times where you get very invested in the story and it just cuts off, now this happens in every webtoon/manga, but this is one of the few times where its done so much that it gets irritating after a while, i think thats what people wanted to say instead of “badly written”, its not that the story doesn’t make sense, its the fact that the scenery changes unnecessarily ever so often. Did it ruin my immersion? No, i still read all of it and enjoyed it. But there were so many instances where i thought “damn, i wish that moment, and that moment- oh also this moment lasted longer, we literally got nothing.”
All the people in the comment section are completely missing the entire point of the story. So if you haven't understood the story let me brief it for you guys:
So basically Damon has a sort of inferiority complex because most people always see him for his works rather than who he actually is. That bothers him because no one is interested in him and his true self, not even his old lover. This has caused him to be skeptical and he shows slight attention seeking behaviour as well.
Colton on the other hand suffered from unrequited love towards his father's friend and he despised his father who was the classic example of a stereotype alpha. This led him to hate all alphas who were shallow.
When Damon and Colton first met their relationship was a contractual one and both of them used the other.
The reason people are finding this story complicated is because this is not a fluffy story at all. It's a story about healing and moving on. Its a story of overcoming one's weaknesses and insecurities.
Throughout the story, Colton learns to move on from his past and let Dylan go, because he never really loved him per say, he only saw him as a substitute for his mother and the love he felt was situational.
Same goes for Damon, he learns that there are people who see and care for HIM not his works or his talent. That was his biggest insecurity.
The end is more complete than most of you believe. The way both of them are finally comfortable with the other and are ready to reveal what bothers them shows how far they've come. "Do you still like me?" Is the ending question Damon asks, and to that Colton replies that he has never not liked him. He always had eyes on him, and he was ready to accept him with all his emotional baggage.
The reason y'all felt like y'all didn't enjoy the story or that it's incomplete or that it's badly written is because y'all have grown too used to being spoon fed the plot. You guys are used to BL that clearly states everything and there's no subplot elements.
This manhwa is an extremely mature one and has a lot of undertones one has to pick up in order to follow the story, and in my opinion that makes the story even more attractive
