not spoiling or anything but as someone who read the whole novel you are in for a LONG RIDE, honestly Carcel is just HIM he may not be perfect in this timeline but the previous one's i can say he is a HUGE green flag. He is a green flag in this timeline too you just don't see it because you are blinded by the fact he slept with other women (when its ines who Incourage it) i mean consensual affair doesn't equal to cheating no? do correct me if im wrong though.
I won't talk about the other timelines since Ines was very naive in them and now she is a changed person that has walls around her and acts cold. That's why i won't talk about Carcel and how he was in them too (since this is a spoiler, I don't know about them). I'm talking about this specific timeline. He's now a green flag AFTER getting married and AFTER seeing how beautiful Ines actually is but not during their engagement, thus me saying that that's hypocritical of him. Again, at least Ines is consistent in her behaviour and that's why i don't blame her about anything here since the reason she chose Carcel is because of his bad reputation and she also LITERALLY told him not to change for her (again showing his hypocritical side in that scene). She's encouraging it because that will be the reason why she'll divorce him.
I just can't bring myself to like Carcel at all like I read him begging and grovelling for Ines to care about his love life and go "deserved" .
