The author will try to have FL drown from a boat by having it tampered. Cliff knew what the author was doing, but the author didn’t know he knew because she thought she had full control. Cliff basically helped the author to drown FL. In the novel, the readers don’t know until after the trial.
The kidnap and trial incident was horrible, Cliff wanted to execute FL immediately without his brother there. Cliff was also willing to support the author even after the author lost full control. Ahhhhhh!
I find Cliff quite interesting. He's contradicting himself. One moment he cares that Killian does not pay attention to lize and then wants Killian's attention to be on Edith.
And I have this feeling, if it isn't for the author controlling Cliff and him being the main main lead in the original, He and Edith would. have gotten along.
