With every new chapter I cant help but think “…wasn’t this a story about a man leaving the mafia?”
Don’t get me wrong, these side characters are well written with a surprising amount of depth and nuance, and I’m also especially thankful for how this author writes women when most BL makes them flat, witchy characters that are only seen as obstacles. And if from the start, we were told this would be a collection of stories about the men at this strip club, I’d be fine with all this.
My issue is that we spent the entire first season following Junghae and his involvement with his criminal family, and that getting him and his brother as far away from that life as possible was extremely high stakes and time sensitive. Now it feels like that entire plot came to a screeching halt, and it doesn’t seem like we’re going back to that anytime soon.
Again, if this was advertised from the beginning as a look into all these characters lives and how they connect, this would make sense. But I have no connection with these characters (the country boy was only very recently introduced??), so even though they have interesting stories, I couldn’t care less because we weren’t spending any time with them during season one, and I just want to know what’s happening with our Actual main character. I’m happy for the people that are enjoying this still, but I have a theory that even the author doesn’t know where to go with the main plot line, and is stalling by fleshing out these background characters instead
i agree with you i read this story bcs of our main character and curious about whats that shady step bro planning and what will he do. main couple is stuck in current situation and i think that shady guy bring the drama into the story, cant wait to see
The story was infact advertised to be about the mc and the strip club. As you can read the description and all the summaries found. The story with the brother is just a sub plot, the main plot has always been the mc, ml and strip club.
