Yeah... but given that his father knows everything, the minute Sooha goes to Canada, he'll present this proposal of engagement. And if he refuses, his father could just threaten him about Sooha. And he would be powerless over that because Sooha's in Canada and his father has connections. Sooha will be gone before he can do anything, and would eventually have to go along with his father's offer.
Sooha will find out, feeling helpless and unloved and abandoned, would end up feeling as he does now.
Looks like their future all points to the same direction, no matter what path they take.
I do get why he wouldn't tell Sooha anything. If he tells Sooha that he's getting marries just so they can be together because his father is threatening him, Sooha will feel guilty about it or maybe even try to leave so he doesn't have to go through with the marriage.
"Do you love me?"
"Yes."
"Then why are you getting married to another person?"
"It's because I love you that I have to. Or else my father will tear us apart."
"I love you, but I don't need you."
What Sooha fails to realise is that he does need him. That's why he's doing everything he can to make sure they can stay together.
