A lot of Hyeon is pushing Yiseon forward to live. Yes his personality and thoughts changed during S1, but Heyon also doesn't know how to deal with his emotions (affetlctions) and is a bit possessive to a point.
Initially it's was for power ofcourse now his liking for him surpasses everything.A single shit talk about yiseon can distort his whole face.
He doesn't need yiseon after the end of 7th dungeon. Yiseon served his purpose. He doesn't need this used up chess piece anymore. Not worth it . Why should he deal with a nutjob who's not in his right mind?
He could have simply stalled the whole thing , let MC deal with whatever aftermath there's.
