I think people should face reality

Yellow m**** and n*** are both racist terms and why do you want a bully to be handsome? Even koreans make korean bullies ugly even uglier than this tho! I know black people faced severe consequences because of racism but there was a time were Asian peoples were attacked too. All are saying he said the "n" word but no one talking abt the yellow racial slur. Y'all clearly being biased towards blacks and I understand why it would be banned in US but it should be continued in other countries! The message here is so important. Such a good series should not be banned for trivial reasons such as this. And by trivial I mean in bullying racism is a common occurrence and even without racism some bullying can still lead to a person committing suicide as we've seen in previous chapters so this series needs to continue and they should continue to be bold unless they want to cater to black people specifically. It's even more amazing as they apologized quickly. It clearly shows they meant no harm.

You just put it clearly in words what I have been thinking.

First of all, it’s a good thing this series was discontinued. I’m Black Canadian, and for you to sit here and justify the creator's actions based on "Asian people were attacked too” It takes a quick Google search to educate yourself on slavery, how it affects African American families to this day, and how systemic racism leaves an effect on black youth that results in generational trauma. And I loved how you missed the translator point of the author giving the character who is portrayed as black harmful stereotypical “black” features, but you just brush this off with "even Korean bullies are ugly." The apology wasn’t for you to accept in the first place; it was for black people who genuinely enjoyed this series but felt hurt by how the creator used the “n” word and portrayed black people in a harmful stereotypical way. This matter may seem “trivial” to you since you’re not black, but you should really take a step back from this ignorant mindset and educate yourself before thinking you have the nerve to have an opinion when you clearly know nothing

Ha...I did my research and I know about slavery black people went through. But what I'm saying here is in bullying using racist terms are natural cuz I've seen bullies using racial slur and they had no shame nor conscience to not use them. In US there's majority of blacks and whites so I can understand they banned it there cuz yk even slight motivation towards racism will make some brainless shit act there but it's not the case in other countries. Especially in Korea if the whole bullying is about racism then there's 99% chance it will go unnoticed. Here the author tried to portray both racial slur used against both blacks and asians(A form of neutrality but ofc as black guy is the bad guy here you prolly won't think so). That's why I think they tried to depict the untouched topic of racism through this. It was a bold move and answers like your's were expected. I know I've no right to accept the apology and Im not even doing so as I'm not black but my people went through slavery too and we've been mocked for our color too but that's not the point I wanted to say. And stereotypical? Do explain further cuz I don't know about that. AGAIN IN BULLYING esp. IN KOREA racism goes unnoticed if you care about black people there then preach

Just to be clear again by no means is racism trivial for me. But I said it cuz racism is trivial for "the bullies". I mean cmon that country's bullying goes to the extent of r*pe, murder, various kinds of assualts, threats, thefts and so on what do you think racism feels like in front of these people.

I guess the problem here is mainly that the author decided to just take a huge leap into making a plot that tackles on racism without having any foundations for it first; which ultimately makes it look like they were making this arc due to personal reasons.

Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but they shouldve learnt to atleast learn abt systematic racism in other countries and look from an outside perspective that Koreans are the hugest pos of them all when it comes to racism; so making this kind of plot out of the blue paints a really bad picture to not just the author, but to all koreans aswell.

I hope the author just learns their lesson and apologize to the community theyve hurt. Ignorance is a double sided weapon if used.

True! That's exactly what happened here.
This chapter needs a revise or should just be removed rather than canceling it as a whole!

I think you need to take time off the internet because in no way was that an apology. You must be ignorant or not black because the shit that you're saying right now is literal bullshit. The word monkey has always been used as a derogatory term towards Africans, so the fact that you're trying to use some bullshit excuse like "well the black guy called an Asian person a yellow monkey!!" makes no sense. The main issue which you clearly missed, is the fact that the author is portraying handsome white boy as the hero of this story by saying the n-word, while the ugly black character is the villain. Yes black people can and have been racist, anybody can be racist. But you do know that if a black student were to live in Korea and go to a Korean school that they would face more racism than the amount of racism any of those Korean students have faced by a black individual in their country. If you want to make awareness in your comic then at least make it fucking realistic. Don't call mixed Korean students "unpure" and fight racism with racism. And I get this comic is supposed to be like fight violence with violence and beat the shit out of people and stuff, but that really is not the way to tackle a topic such as racism. And on top of that, adding that "apology" to all this mess just makes this worst, because I feel as though the author is trying to defend themselves instead of realizing and admitting that they fucked up.

    Iminsane November 27, 2023 8:52 pm

Also don't call black people "blacks", thanks.

You don't understand sarcasm and rhythm of saying things, do you? If you wanted to genuinely correct me you would've corrected me on saying whites too. Stop being biased ffs! We talk on equal grounds or not at all.

Just say you got a bias and wanna ignore genuine issues that were launched in your face, calling black people "blacks" while knowing the meaning is malicious, idgaf if you didn't use it in a certain term or whatever, you're biased and you'd much rather pretend that the author portrayed other Asian people in racist ways, which he did but the author also made black people specifically ugly beings who tormented poor Korean students and has a white man be their savior... like idk how you're try to put logic to something so egregious, with this whole woe is me attitude. Literally just say you don't care about black people struggling and stfu, it's better that way thx.

Hello??? Tf? I didn't mean it in a malicious way its just my way of saying... I'm not writing some official letter to be vary of all these things and I got bias lmao? I love black people! My mom is dark skinned idk if our ancestor is black so I can't claim to be one! I just wanted to tell people to stop hating on author because racism in korea is an untouched topic! You can watch interviews of real black people in Korea they faced racism there and same goes for koreans in other countries but The author is korean if I guessed right... they can't just outright make only koreans the bad guy unless they want to be jobless and forever be banned from making korean manwha... I agree they did it in an immature way but at least respectfully tell them what they did wrong or get some black people on staff to shape the story in a way you all are not offended. There's clearly a barrier here but unless someone stands up to teach them genuinely and help them understand you people more deeply instead of just hating. There's no need for me to comment what I did. I just want to have a peaceful way through all this but you people are outright hating on me? Making ur own opinion on what kind of person I'm and so on!

Also I agree that guy being half-white would obviously offend black people that's why I already said in my other comment that this chapter should be removed. I'm sorry I didn't went into too much detail because I was lazy! AND GENUINELY I'M BIASED TOWARDS BOTH BLACK PEOPLE, ASIANS AND WHITE PEOPLE. CALL ME WEIRD BUT I LIKE BOTH EXTREMES! AS A SCIENCE STUDENT I LOVE THIS WORLD AND IT'S VARIETY OF ELEMENTS! I CAN'T BE BOTHERED BY RACISM AND THEIR VALUES(like not saying black people "blacks" when I'm not even writing an official document + with no malicious or disrespecting way) I'm clearly just seeing everyone as humans who lives on the same planet and that's my only logic!

...ugh I'll just add this point as well- what I just said might be seen as being ignorant of the suffering black people went through but again as a science student when two theories are opposing each other...we sit down together and talk together; invite more people to come to a conclusion then present the result accurately! Regardless of how much suffering the scientists had to went through for making their theories and how much they must have hated each other when their theories of hard work might be proved wrong because of the other person. They still had the patience and curiosity to find the truth of the matter likewise I want people to find peace and truth of the matter instead directly hating or being offended for someone's ignorant mistake! Author is a human after all!
