He seems to not realize his feelings for MC = internalized homophobia. And his idea for protecting his only "friend" is to lock him up within the boundaries he's set for him. He's now starting to break down a little because he's a perfectionist and things are not going the way he wanted to: MC admitting he likes another man, gf breaking up with him...
