It's based on an Otome Game that's why it seems so jumpy. It's been a few years since I played it, but I think that they tried to add some scenes from each route to it. Honestly, all I remember from the game though is that I like Joel's route the best.

some of the chapters feel like there’s a major skip? Or like missing details??? We’ll be on one scene and then all of a sudden, it’s like a jump cut to a completely different scene with no transition what so ever… so that was a little confusing… it felt unfinished and a little bit disappointing? like.. the ending felt super abrupt
overall, it was an okay story if you can get pass the unorganized-ness of the story
and well, ashton and Annie get together in the end, it would’ve been nice if there were some side stories and stuff about their relationship or the other character
