It's the way the mangaka depicted the black person that made everyone upset. The fat, ugly and big lip. I mean they aren't wrong it is racist. But yeah onto the next manga. BTW what manga did you find? Hopefully it's one I haven't read yet. I'm running out of new yaoi manga to read.
I came across so many foreigner characters in a lot of manga that I read and I'm so used of the cliche that I just think the creator just wants them to be recognizable as black or blond. Coz it's not a colored pages so kinda hard to recognize if they say it's a foreigner with black skin or sparkly hair blond with loaded pecks. That's the problem tho for the most artist but in this story.. I guess.. it's just so little part that it didn't give me enough reason to think it's a problem of society.
I get the crying buckets was kinda annoying but it's a character flaw made by the mangaka. I think it's cute. And the ending is Abit jumpy but it's a good read. The only problem for me is myself . I'm actually asking myself if I can take or still love someone if I saw them having sex Infront of me or selling themselves for money. The realization is unending.
Drawing demeaning caricatures of black people is harmful and the story being in black and white is not an excuse. There are respectful ways to draw black people and ur a terrible person and artist if u don’t care to try.
It's a good read. But the real drama is in this comment section. I didn't get the racist part tho. I just came here to read. Anyways.. onto the next story.
