I have a feeling like it's more of possessiveness on yugeon's part, he saved shinje's life (literally pulled shinje back from death's grip) at the near end of the novel, so he somehow feels like he 'owns' shinje's life now. but he still tried to leave him behind, but shinje found him... so yeah that happened....
and in extras it shows that yugeon like being taken care of/pampered. (I mean, understandable, after having to take care of his older brother since childhood) And shinje is one indulging mf, so yeah lol. He's happy, I guess????
