I agree, I mean all his life he just went through shit and the only comfort or whatever in its twisted form he got, even if that comfort/security was 2%, he found solace. I mean can you imagine having such a bad life that you set your bar so low even after being treated like this.
Ikr… im totally on not liking jaekyung and other ppl has enough to say about that matter. But what’s insane is that there are ppl saying that any of this is even partially Kim Dan’s fault. You’re right about having to empathise with Dan to understand him. He fell for Jaekyung because in comparison to what his ‘normal’ was, Jaekyung’s treatment was like presidential VIP.
So I’m sick of people basically victim blaming Kim Dan… it’s almost the same as blaming a victim with Stockholm syndrome (im not saying dan has coz its a different situation for him) its more on development and evironment.
True that, for me there is no Jaekyung redemption arc that is gonna bring him in my good books anymore. I'm gonna read this just to see how it ends up but honestly I'd never want any person to end up with him. Bro's done for me. I've come into terms that Jaekyung might be a sociopath with no feelings. hes not even doing it on purpose people here act like those who call mental ilnesses some kind of act of attention. dan is far more gone to even realize the situation hes in. he sees all these acts as acts of kindness and finds comfort in them. youre totally right
and im mostly here to see how better it gets for dan because i want to see him truly happy
i think some of you guys here dont really understand how human mind works,, saying things like how can dan fall for jaekyung. feelings dont work like that, if you want to understand dans pov better i suggest empathizing with him, considering his past, his victim mental state and his morals as well as his priorities. but he does and can control his choices which havent been really shown in the story so far because hes been through a lot yet to make a life choice. hes trying to survive and he has started to settle is thats why he realized his feelings so late, now he can do a self reflect and we can see what choices he makes about staying with jaekyung
