The Chinese word is an onomatopoeia of giggling "heh" so using giggle isn't wrong tho

Yeah chuckle sounds way better. I think the person who translated just thought giggle was a direct synonym of laughing and didn't know how feminine and cute it sounds lol.
I'm the one who translated it and English is not my first language but the proofreader didn't correct me (don't know if she missed it or not). Google says "a light, silly laugh" so I didn't think it' wrong.
So my proofreader said "giggle" is less manly but it's still a light laugh. It didn't matter much.
As we discussed, I think "chuckle" is more serious and when I used "giggle", I thought that he laughed at Potato out of adoration. That's my opinion anyway
