Nope.....he's not going to have any character development or redemption arc. If we follow the novel.

Ugh, this makes me wanna stop reading it.

I mean... from spoilers I've gathered we do have 'development' but consider he has a mental condition that will not disappear... like ever. His 'development' is there but it's probably not what you expect I guess?

If we start considering that as a 'character development' then we have definitely lower our standard. And in my opinion the mental illness is just an excuse for all the horrible things ml going to do in future.

Well... have you looked into what people with that condition are like? They've been called sociopaths for the longest time for a reason. Idk why you'd expect him to act any less sociopathic? They're very much capable of committing crimes left and right with no remorse, and would definitely not feel guilty of making someone who tried to ruin them (because we forget Peter DID try to harm him purposely) want to die... the main reason he hasn't gotten rid of him yet is because he still finds him 'interesting' and that's also VERY much in line to how ppl with that condition would choose their victims... it's NOT an interest out of affection.

I don't believe it's an "excuse" when the author has demonstrated time and time again that they're trying to portray a character with that condition. If you're expecting him to suddenly be all sweet to Peter or at some point... idk why you're reading this type of work. The man has literally stated time and time again that they can't empathize/understand human emotions and have been ON TREATMENT since they were young for it... you're better off reading a work with a trashy ML that is trashy with no background indicating why?

Well I have read the novel. At that time when I was reading it, I also thought it's a very good novel with everything explained such as why ml act in such way . But now that I think, I was unmature and didn't have enough knowledge about mental illness.
I still think author used ASPD as an excuse for to justified ml's action (rape, blackmail, confiscated mc's passport and isolating mc from his family and torture him, even murder someone) and the funny thing is, he never faced any consequence cuz he is ml with mental problem, duh! So readers should be considered about it.

Then I have say, they had portrayed it in a very wrong way as possible. (People with mental illness already face discrimination on regular basis, do you think ml's character will help to create awareness atleast in bl community?) Then again you can counter with that it is a fiction and we shouldn't take it seriously......

I haven't read the novel so I can't speak for it. The novel and manhwa will still differ since the novel will definitely have much more content, in that case, I can't offer an opinion based on the novel. I can only speak from my impression of the manhwa.

I can't say the author's depiction of the condition is perfect but from my studies (pysch major) I can say effort was put into creating a character with a condition rather than trying to create a character who "btw has a condition". I can say his actions are not far off from how someone with the condition would actually act as... but, again, this depends on the person, the gravity of the condition, their background and circumstances, etc... no one will act/think in the same way, so, because we know this we can say that the author's effort is there and I appreciate that. Even if it isn't perfect it's still one of the best depictions I've read in a manhwa that ISN'T all about that condition... my standard would be higher if the work revolved about the condition and how ML has to live with it... but that isn't the main point for this work.

It IS fiction but I believe it depends on whoever reads the fiction to decide how to understand the work and if they agree/disagree with what's being portrayed. I'll ASSUME everyone reading this is an adult that is able to walk away on their own when they don't want to read it anymore, as there are adults who are interested in continuing reading not for the sake of them having a HE but rather because they're genuinely curious how things will end up with these two based on their personalities and interactions (me!).

So that's my take!

Maybe it's because we're getting trashy MLs more often than not, fans are now simply treating all of them in that way without any consideration for the story and the characters the author is trying to portray... I can't blame them but I believe we should also give recognition where it's due. It's a shame the manhwa won't go as deeply as the novel, but I'm really enjoying the depth of the characters shown.
