if they were going to go this route what was the point of minhu character? his undying will to go back home no matter what happens? what was the point of all that? minhu is a great character he really is but the author did him so wrong

I have no words. I defend minhu this entire journey and somehow held out hope.. I can't say I'm suprised cause I didn't see it coming but did they really have to go this route?
