Honestly sounds like the most logical and plausible explanation for how brainwashing should work, and I feel like that's how brainwashing is done irl. So yes, the Sword King is being brainwashed.

In a few chapters ahead, Jihan, our MC will attract even more attention because of how strong his is with his rapid growing and the formation of a nurturing guild, and Japan will get interested in acquiring him. More precisely, the Japan's Goddess is the one interested in grabbing him for Japan because she wants Japan to be the number one league and etc.

So she will hatch a plan to capture Jihan to her side. And in that will discover her true powers, how she captured the Sword King. That's why he acts out of character and says things like "I have no daughter", because she said so.

When the Japanese woman comes to try to enchant Jihan and fails, he exposes her to the world and also shows that the Sword King was enchanted by her. And he decides to try and help his brother-in-law just because of Se-ha.
