Allow me to answer as I remember (sorry if I am wrong). The one who died from mayee's family was Sion's uncle (and Tati's dad). He's the one who visit Sion previously in earlier chapter just before he ascended to holy king. Also the one who made a fuss during auction. Bc of the auction thing, he angered the duke mayee (Sion and tati grandpa) so he was poisoned (yes by the grandpa aka his own dad). But grandpa pretended that it's an assassin. It's not spoiler bc it should be implied here. The one who poisoned sion was also grandpa. Grandpa poisoned them at the same time so people wouldn't be suspicious of him. Sion thought Tati was in trouble bc ig he was afraid grandpa knew Tati was in contact with him. I think Tati didn't live in the main house before but now she was called there for the funeral.
also iirc tati dad was supposedly the next heir of mayee (he's stupid and easy to control). but now he died. ig there's a possibility that Tati's going to be thrown into a conflict to choose new heir for mayee now. meanwhile tati was so done with that family. strange thing is i dont remember where sion dad is. if someone know please tell me
ah lol i just remembered. It wasn't sion's dad who was a mayee but his mother. sion's mom and Tati's dad were siblings. sion's mom was the older sister
