Im assuming it's to change the dynamic between them. If it hadn't happened, the brother would have been the one feeling guilty (since mc was adopted and sent to his death in his place), but NOW mc is the one whos guilty. Which of course makes it easier for brother to say something cliche like "you better make up for what you did by having a sexual relationship with me" which mc will consider as his punishment but obviously brother has loved him for along time. ╮(￣▽￣)╭
Yeah I agree with what you said, but honestly something similar could have been achieved by a kiss (which is still questionable, but not nearly as traumatizing). Maybe I’m just getting tired of all the excessive toxicity in these stories.
No i get you.... I've had to stop reading the "I'm in debt because my father/friend/exbf ran off with the money and tricked me" because it's just abuse abuse abuse... gets exhausting!
Yeah and the stories are often lazily written, I love angst, but it’s always the same plots and the same plot points that get recycled. Poor uke, overpowering seme, abuse, family mean etc.
I still don’t understand the choice to add rape to this story. It added nothing but disgust for the Mc. With the way he has been depicted it also doesn’t match his character whatsoever. Absolutely unnecessary and honestly makes it hard to sympathize with the mc’a feelings.
