Thank you. Yes, they're both wrong but Carcel apologizes even when he does nothing wrong bc he's always the bigger person but Ines isn't. People keep excusing Ines bc of her past but that doesn't justify her using Carcel. If she was a better person, she wouldn't have tied him to an engagement and marriage while leaving him not knowing anything. She has yet to ever apologize to him for using him or even for inviting a crazy lady to their home. The reason why people are even calling out Ines is bc of people who keep bringing up Carcel's past. Carcel apologized and owned up and changed. What has Ines done so far? She has yet to change and own up to her wrongs.
Explanation is not a justification, her mental health and her life so far EXPLAINS her terrible behaviour which Is NOT justifying what shes doing. Her behaviour is understandable but not acceptable.
She also def needs professional help like if her body literally stops BREATHING like its such an important function of your body, when you get into a serious accident worst case scenario youre in a coma and you body still breathes to keep you alive. Like that itself should signal something is SERIOUSLY wrong with her, someone with severe self-harming past, and also successfully unalived themself idk how ppl expect them to heal on their on :/
Its a awful situation for the ml to be in and unfortunately he also really likes her and wont let her go in the state she is, im just waiting for growth and development for ines and their relationship
Very well said. I always love how the author also states on her Twitter and Naver Blog that Ines was wrong to do that to Cárcel. Author understands very well her characters are flawed and don’t make excuses for them. The problem is no one can call out Inés’s actions without someone jumping on them to remind them of her past. As soon as anyone criticize her actions, they are accused of hating her or not understanding her past.
If it's not acceptable then people should be able to call it out but somehow people can't even call it out without her simps ganging up on people just wishing for her to change and accept happiness. Understanding doesn't mean letting things go. If someone does something wrong, they should learn to apologize and change. You guys are justifying her actions with her past and excusing her for her wrong actions but quick to attack Carcel when you don't even know his past fully. What makes you think he didn't get a bad past bc of Ines action. You don't know? It's because Ines even forced this engagement and marriage on him that Oscar been attempting to kill him since he was a child. He was like 10 when Oscar stabbed him and his mother couldn't do anything bc the queen told their family to let it go. Carcel sees his mother cry in secret every day bc she didn't want to show she didn't agree with the queen. How is Ines' actions justifiable to a young child?
Girl did i attqck carcel? I absolutely love his character, he has such a big heart and is doing the best he can given the circumstances. (I cry everytime ik ill never find a partner like him (´༎ρ༎`)).
I reread this again yesterday (i love this story a lot btw) since rhe beginning ines knows that shes tied him in something he didnt want to be (until the marriage atleast because carcel does want ines rn). She kept telling him to “have his freedom” and “dont worry about each others personal life” and “i know you dont want me”.
Ines doesnt think carcel might like her, she doesnt think he cares for her, she wants a divorce and despite feeling conflicted at times (she herself is falling for him now), is still trying to set him up with so she can get a divorce to “finally get my end” thats what she says.
f^_^; uh do you see her brain now, she knows what she did was morally wrong, but it was the right thing for her. She hasnt outwardly said sorry but shes doing things to make up for it, and given the current situation(and her mental health).
Or atleast with the issue you have, given her personality, she finds it productive to do something about a problem, and for the issue here, is trying to leave this marriage (which is counter productive rn since they both have feelings for each other). I would like her to heal and talk to carcel about everything and verbalize how she feels (sorry and everything else).

I can see her pov. My issue are the people who keep justifying her just bc of her past. She didn't see what she did as wrong. She hasn't done anything to make up for it. She just moves on and doesn't admit to her faults bc she doesn't like to be wrong. In the novel at least they keep the lines where she reflects that she's wrong but in the manhwa, all those lines are cut so I can't see her knowing what she did was wrong. The only time she can see what she did may be wrong was her thinking Carcel deserves better but then she doesn't think about his current feelings still. She's still only thinking about her own. If she thought about his feelings, she wouldn't have tried continue to do what she did, especially when she already likes him. I want her to heal and talk to Carcel too but that's a gradual so all I want is for the manhwa to keep her thoughts that they keep cutting.
Ines always knew Carcel likes her. In the novel she knew since they were kids so she went ham in trying to make him hate her. After they marry, she knew he likes her after that seizure but she just keep denying it bc she didn't want to know. She is trying to get a divorce not bc she doesn't know he likes her. She does know. She just wants a divorce bc she only cared about her being right and not wanting to admit to her fault. All this cuts just doesn't make sense when the manhwa keeps following the novel but doesn't show Ines thoughts and everyone's just making up their own stories of how she may be feeling.
After seeing carcel apologize to Ines simply because she is crying even though he did absolutely nothing wrong made me want to point out how weird it is that people often have to mention carcel’s faults whenever they acknowledge Ines’ as a way to try and equate his as worse or equally as bad. I understand wanting to point out how traumatized ines is and that her actions are understandable and very easy to sympathize with. But trying to argue that Ines and carcel are equally as bad feels like a polite and subtle way of just saying:
Ines hurting him is fine because she’s so traumatized while carcel had it easy his whole life so it doesn’t matter that she hurt him cause it’s nothing compared to her pain. He should just suck it up and treat her like a queen apparently even if it hurts him. The way people talk feels like they’re testing carcel to see if he’s worthy of Ines when as of right now, even Ines keeps pointing out how she’s the one who doesn’t deserve him.
What’s being ignored is that everyone’s pain matters and that being a pawn in her plan did in fact hurt carcel too not just ines. Like season 2 barely started and look at what carcel had to deal with because of Ines:
1. violated in his own bedroom by some random woman because ines needed carcel to cheat so bad for her plan
2. and even now in the newest chapter he’s the one apologizing because she’s crying even though he didn’t do anything wrong. Like even Ines is stating in her thoughts “what are you apologizing for” cause she knows he didn’t do anything wrong.
