The narrator also said in the beginning that the parents were speaking in baby tongue so the translation doesn't really bother me either. I just took it as a way of them being really cute.
The thing is, they made very noticeable mistakes while translating. Even the easiest sentence. For example they used "you" while the mc is talking to herself. Do they not proofread it? They're a whole group too. But alas it's still readable
