Throughout this story, there have been questions and answers but they don't really match with each other.
Like why was the brother mad at the uke? he says it's coz uke is a disgrace due to being a bastard, so shouldn't the conflict be more on him (bro) lowkey getting jealous since the uke's illegitimate, which means he has the privilege of being a Gojou but none of the pressure? but no, the real conflict is bcoz as a child, the uke accidentally exposed him and the butler doing the deed;
Next is the butler's overprotectiveness, why was he doing it and why was he controlling the uke? the best I can come up with is coz he's protecting him from the brother so he wants him to be successful so he (the bro) has less to say about him, BUT he (the butler) knows, and the uke knows too that the brother is legit still in love with him, they even reaffirmed this at the end with that waiting dialogue, so wouldn't it be safe to say he has a strong pull towards the brother if he just talked to him about being nicer to the uke?
Another is the seme-- it's good that he's expressive unlike most semes that are just blocks of poker faces, however, I don't really feel this seme loving the uke, infatuation, perhaps, coz he finds him beautiful, but that's about it. Also the uke, basing his love for the seme just coz he called him beautiful that one time is equally stupid in my book.
I also can't fathom how he's (uke) supposed to be this high class ultra fantastic lawyer but he caves at the slightest of provocation, like if you want to make him a pitiful character make him one all the way, don't be half-assed. It would make better sense if the seme was a more capable lawyer too anyway, for instance, the uke could seek out his help on a case, and that could be their bonding moment, a way for their feelings to develop. Relatively, being a subpar lawyer could also explain why the brother keeps treating him as a disappointment, so that's 2 birds for the plot.
Anyway, I was more invested with the brother x butler subplot in this one.
