
Actually, it is a type of mental abuse to go as far as he does. Even if he doesn't approve of his son becoming a professional artist, there is no reason not to encourage it as a hobby. Children need hobbies to keep their minds active and engaged while they don't study. It keeps their minds fresh. If you take all of that away and say the only thing they're allowed to do is study, no hobbies or time to rest, it gives them no outlet for various feelings in nondestructive ways. It's sort of like solitary confinment. People suffer from this type of upbringing, maybe not as much as if they were traditionally abused, but the damage exists.
It so sad to see Jun get abused by his mom...and the dads..Juns' is a manipulator and the other is conservative and overly traditional..probably had his dreams squashed by his dad and repeats the cycle with siwon..so sad:(
