I think the worst part is not his delusion, but his age. I can see a high schooler, or a freshman at college be this delusional. But this guy? Well I guess his life wasn't that good so he might be weak to any sign of kindness. By that logic though, he shouldve fallen for the actor as well. Idk idk. Weird.
I'm thinking he doesn't have a lot of experience - having to take care of his ailing grandma and all. Also, by the way this chapter went, JK helping his grandma contributed in large part to it. Like Dan's so thankful to him that he's blinded. Although I'm not sure that will surely apply irl
