The fact that her own flesh and blood son thinks what she did was horrible also says something. That he always treated Yanagi as his older brother despite the fact he knew they were cousins and Yanagi was just adopted. And that his brother just existing did not mean he had to deal with such trauma and neglect his whole life. I think the fact everyone but Yanagi sees what she did was wrong does mean Yanagi has people who love and care for him enough to help fight battles he’d just give up on
