Season 1 is really really traumatizing and triggering, it’s not a story for everyone. You can go with the novel season 1, some did because the imagery was too much. But the novel isn’t light as well, you’ll feel the suffering and pain of the uke. I cried a lot reading it…

A lot of people commented that this should be a forbidden book, but the story is really good. But book 1 is basically how you destroy yourself because of love, because the uke was a decent person who got corrupted because of jealousy and his actions caused the death of seme’s partner and child. The seme got lost in his quest for justice and did inhumane things to the uke, he became a bigger monster than the uke, from justice and revenge it became a conquest to destroy the remaining dignity of uke.

It’s a story of creating your own hell, because the seme liked the uke since the beginning… but his pride and prejudice made him choose a partner who looks like the uke. The seme wanted stability and uke was an alpha. The sad part is not only did he reject the uke, but he tormented and humiliated the uke by flaunting his happiness. It resulted in the uke’s fall from grace…

Season 2 or volume 2-3 in the novel is lighter. It’s the uke’s healing process which was ultimately satisfying, but this takes a while. It’s a regression story, but it’s the uke who only remembers.

Vol 5 and maybe season 3 is the seme’s return. Unlike the uke, his journey is more of a punishment and realization, because he had to accept that he also fucked up. That he destroyed someone beautiful because of pride. Don't expect redemption because there is none… he continues to messed up even in this life. But he does take accountability in his actions and starts doing his best to be better.

It’s not a simple story. It’s really good, because both characters from world 1 faced different journeys and they both grow from it. By meeting the same partners without the memories or involvement, they were able to form healthier relationships (somewhat). I personally think it’s worth reading.. but it’s really not for everyone. If u care for ur mental health, don't read this....but as someone who was alrdy trapped into this tragic novella, I say give it a try because the story is really well written. I'd recommend u read the novel cus it's more detailed tho. Anyways, good luck reading
