He can walk out, he simply chose not to. The Safe Word was for the Sex Play. That is what was stated. But sex, straight up fornication, is not play. Han told Lee that he needed to know the difference, and he was not wrong in that statement. I'm well aware of the mechanics of safe words, but the MC stayed away from sex overall because of his trauma. Thing is, he does things without a backup plan and his insistence to find a safer position, when he knew he wasn't qualified, got him into this mess.

Rape is never a light subject. Being a survivor means going forward and reclaiming Life while having that as part of your past. No, Lee does not respect himself regardless of what he went through. He continuously cries because he was used to being bullied. He hasn't made efforts to move beyond that. It's understandable that he has trust issues, that's a clear given, but he's still an adult that made those decisions that got him into this situation and he hasn't owned that yet.

I could sympathize or empathize, but this is a fictional story. It shouldn't be a 1:1 reflection of real life. There needs to be some form of escapism for the reader to enjoy, that's the point. The gist with the story is that Han and Lee hook up via these rendezvous. Lee learns to accept his present-day life and eventually grow. And Han will show exactly how much he cares for Lee by sticking up for him in some way shape or form. Pretty typical stuff.

The so called decision he made is based on his beliefs, u can see he has very little life experience and do not get out of his comfort zone coz he was pushed into it. Please be kinder. And trust me u need to look more into who is suffering.
