best way to describe this is like a soap opera that fell off around season 3 and all the actors and screenwriters and producers are sick of writing and acting but they’ve got 6 more seasons to film, so they all decide to just make things as shitty and nonsensical as possible just to piss off viewers and get ratings down so low that no one will even bother watching.
