Well

I read it in Korean, the last dialogue Mr. ex-f*buddy said in the English version, “Just like he did with all the others.”
In the Korean version, he actually said, “Because that bastard specializes in eating and throwing away.”

I always wonder why they change lines like that. I’m sure everyone prefers the exact translation.

I heard it's because the English Editors wants the lines to "fit the scene" more or something. Which is stupid but yeah. Nothing we can do about it

I hate when they do this bro like idc about it fitting the scene. Dialogue in the story is more important than the art most time. I need to understand what I’m reading more than what I’m seeing.

Same with when they Americanize things ugh it’s so annoying ruahhhh

IKR? I always compare it with the Korean version because I want to know what the character said in the original version (sometimes the English version makes JK’s dialogue feel a bit ruder too, haha)

For real? Is he a lot less rude in korean version? Is that why other fans think JK has feelings for Dan? Coz if that's the case, English translators are sabotaging this story. Lol

Right??? Imagine chaging JKs name to John or Johnny or some random generic English name. I'll go insanely mad

ong they’re sabotaging it… but I can’t imagine how much of a difference what he says will change the fact of his actions though. The author is currently sabotaging it

It’s just sometimes, not all, haha like when he said “the hell” if translated directly, he just said “what?” in an impolite way. I can’t say that “the hell” is totally wrong when translated into another language, but it just feels a bit ruder?

YESSS I HATE WHEN THEY CHANGE NAMESSSS or like phrases like bro we read manga for a living we understand it’s from a different country we like that it’s from a different country we enjoy learning things from other countries I would rather have the closest to the original with understanding it then an altered version for my “comfort”. Because if it’s not a usd bill or sorry I can’t think of another example I’m running on .5 brain cells rn. But yeah it makes it more uncomfortable and actually harder to get immersed like if they say big brother instead of oppa or they change out the honorifics it’s just so weird and unnatural. I am reading something from korea set in korea. I expect Korean things in it.
