Irony or not, it was meant as a joke. It was a double entendre.

It has two meanings, dumbass. It is.

First off, name calling isn't necessary. Second off, double entendre is used for phrases that have multiple interpretations, one of which is usually suggestive or risqué. Saying that was gay doesn't evoke either. I understand your point that you were attempting humor by stating the obvious, but don't insult my intelligence when you clearly don't understand nuances like these. Educate yourself, rather than lashing out at a stranger.

    Right O.o?
Everyone just ganged up on some random person making a joke (not the funniest, sure, but hardly offensive)

Sorry know this is way late, but a double entendre would be used for when you mean something in two different ways with one being suggestive, exactly such as in gay; as in homosexual or jolly. The original poster meant both. So aren't you the one being rather rude over a joke, and one that there was nothing wrong with? Frankly, though by now it rather too late, I'd think I'd apologize.
