Why are they still calling each other mr 😔

Its a language thing. In Korean adding -shi as a suffix is a polite way to call someone. It is pretty much equivalent to Mr./Miss/Mrs. However even spouses do call eo with -shi as a form of endearment? You could say. It is quite equivalent to japanese use of -san, in case you know of it.
