Okay, so the ML is just plain selfish . And the MC gets the short end of the stick always. The MC's family is also very manipulative and trashy. The parents disowned him for being gay, but then when the younger sister wants to go to a foreign art school, the mum pesters him saying he has to pay. The mum ambushes the MC at his house where they have a fight. On that night, the mc and ml both went to work party and both drank, so both of them went to the mc's house, where they met the mum. And the mum is like, are you his boyfriend etc
Anyway, she tells the ml that the mc got raped. And the ml later asks mc "did you put me together with the rapists?" As if it's about him and not the mc. He still never apologized for not establishing a clear rules or boundaries surrounding the whole bdsm thing.
And the ml is also very childish. Anyway, they finish their contracted night visits, the ml shows the mc some bullcrap nice sides of him like preparing sandwiches (you know the real works in relationship) and the mc is like does he like me or nah.
At the end, the ml doesn't change in any way, the mc still has no clear idea about bdsm and they end up together. And the ML keeps calling sex without bdsm "vanilla sex" .
I would have loved if the storyline went in another direction, but we can't help it, not our story to write.

Forgot to write, the ml starts to get jealous when the mc has good woek relationships with his colleagues and starts behaving like a little b*tch. Then mc clearly tells him to stop this bullshit , later ml apologized. It starts to get better but the ml again cimes up with something new to moan about.
It's not a linear character growth I'd say.

How can the author write the MC this way, give him so much trauma and abuse in his life, only to then give him the shittiest partner he could possibly have. He deserves so so much better. He deserves someone like dooshik from pearl boy. I know this is a BDSM story, but the MC doesn’t quite seem like he’s truly into it.
