The other Owen's disappeared because the main Owen got pregnant. Handkerchief Owen once brought up what he would think about someone getting pregnant by him unknowingly and Nux said he'd hate it/them. I don't think he wanted/planned to disappear but he probably did because he didn't want Nux to hate him.
