about the miscarriage

I feel bad for the fl ofc, can't even begin to comprehend the pain she's in. But how was losing their child the ml's fault? like it was either take the medicine and fight to survive and potentially lose the baby or don't take the medicine and die with the baby either way the baby was gonna end up dying and even if she was able to potentially fight off the disease without the medicine (not really possible cuz fl has a weak system and it's literally an epidemic it's not like her body already has the antibodies present to fight it off) it's highly possible for her to still lose the baby because her body would be in a lot of stress. It was a lose-lose situation which is sad but the only best possible option was to ingest the medicine and hope for the best, I mean what else could the ml even do?? not give his wife med and lose both their baby and his wife? It's not like the baby could have survived off of the fl's corpse lmao.

I agree. It is sad and I believe that many mothers would not agree but if you did not take the medicine the child would have died with the mother or not develop propely because of the sicnes.

it’s the ML’s fault because he doesn’t respect her wishes. she explicitly said do not give anything that will harm our child. he did anyway. chloe knew that she would die, but ultimately it is up to her.

sometimes it’s not the action but the principles of it

I understand you and, frankly, if I was in a similar position, I would also drink the medicine, since I find it stupid to die needlessly, however, Chloe has a different view on things. For her this baby was the last saving grace for her life with the ML and for their marriage in general. I think she viewed the baby as the only genuine fruit of her relationship with Damien, especially after she learned the truth.

So ultimately, she put all her hopes in the baby. If we imagine that the baby was born, her life would 100% revolve only around it, since the baby would be the only thing she knows wasn't a lie. Now, imagine that this hope, the only peace and light in your life is taken away from you against your will. You no longer have a saving grace and are left with only grief and resentment. And you are in this position by the very person who you resent, who until yesterday lied about every aspect of his life before and after you became a couple. I guess for Chloe, at that moment, living with him without the baby was worse than dying with her child and the fact that Damien did not respect her wishes but chose to, again, dictate her life due to his selfish wants was what made her hate and blame him and want a divorce.

Aaahh that makes sense so she would rather die with her child than live without it right?

Yes, I said that already. He's a jerk, don't get me wrong.
But he's not the reason why the baby's death.

But he is made a big mistake for leaving his grieving wife alone. At least he should bring her father to the manor if he doesn't want his wife to go along with him.
