Senzaki's Suicide and Tasumi's Resolve

jyuriann December 29, 2016 11:21 am

To be honest, I think Senzaki committed suicide. It could be the translation, but when Senzaki talked about how he couldn't settle for the boring world, how he was going to make a final disappearance, said Tasumi have to come with him and how he would wait, this all gave me the sense that he wanted to leave not to another physical place but to transcend the physical world aka suicide.. What really confirmed my suspicion was when Tasumi visited their old love den and broke down crying screaming "I'm sorry" over and over (for not following him). The guy with the glasses (sorry forgot your name!) can be seen in the panel as he is trying to asked Tasumi what's wrong but is shocked by Senzaki's presence. Howeve, when Tasumi turned around, he wasn't there! Senzaki vows to never let Tasumi be happy and will follow him everywhere, suggesting that he will haunt him. Tasumi lives knowing that Senzaki will never forgive him, giving him Senzaki's feelings of both love and betrayal, something Tasumi can carry on ahhhh. I love their story so much, it hurts. I can't be the only one who thought the same about this or his suicide.

you are very smart, and I agree with your theory. Thanks for sharing.

…and, don't you think what Senzaki invited him for, actually was a double suicide?…In a way, he's a pure character, while all of them has more than one face. He left his family, and that's interesting too, I got he came from a yakuza background, so it shouldn't be so easy for him to simply decide to leave… but he wants a clear end. Will we read something more about him in the future? It wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I thought the same thing like I was sure their story is going to end with death (suicide) also I dont think Senzaki would be able to keep on living without Tatsumi (thus leaving him) since he showed how devoted he was

Interesting interpretation. I noticed there was a picture of an open window, so I think that's Senzacki's exit--but I see how you could read it as a metaphor for suicide.

I thought the same at first ! Really !
But after I red it again and again, I saw, just like "Anoni Grrl" that the window was wide open. It's that kind of detail that makes me understand that Senzaki isn't dead.
The fact that he doesn't fogave Tatsumi means that he's still really in love with him.

But Tatsumi says that he waits until Senzaki ends his breathing...
It makes me feel as if he thinks Senzaki will come and kill him one day, and Tatsumi is ready to accept it

But if Atsumu (I think that's his name) could see Senzaki, that should mean he's still alive right?

    blackdia December 29, 2016 8:26 pm

Anoni Grrl, I noticed the open window too, but the entire sequence seems strange to me. (Atsumu…. I admit I do not take him seriously - when I see him, I'm automatically so irritated by his presence that I do not play enough attention).
My guess is that Senzaki might have become a demon (even if not a evil one. Let's say a demon that pursues revenge through his love). An entity you can occasionally see with your own eyes, but, who knows. Maybe he's alive, I just like the hypothesis of the suicide more. It would be so much more meaningful, not to mention the opportunity it is Tatsumi, not Karino, the one who'll succeed their father. That would be… interesting, and to me, it might be connected to the strength that comes to him from loosing the one he loves. As someone noticed, he lost his previous cautions. He's free now. He wouldn't be really free, while waiting for Senzaki to come back.
That's what this entire story is about. The freedom that comes from loosing everything you have. Since you've got nothing left to loose… you can be the King of the world by destroying every single obstacle.
Once you've got something precious you have to take care of it, somehow, I mean, even Kuze realizes that, even though I cannot honestly say his caring is too careful and he can placidly go to hell any time, according to me.

This leads us directly to one point: is Azusa "something precious" to Karino, or not? Does he have enough value to his eyes to become an obstacle between his wishes and reality?
Sorry for wasting your time reading, I've got nothing to do today. And Jyuriann hit the target, for me.

Yes! I totally agree with everything you said and the double suicide. With the author's style, I think suicide would have been more likely. While the open window may play a part, but just looking at the way they delivered the scene makes me think otherwise. Why would Senzaki make a final disappearance just to come back? That's just not like him and contradictory. Senzaki, like you said is pure, yet twisted. I think the idea that he became a ghost or demon is possible considering the author's writing style. And yes, the theme of the story! I'm glad someone caught that. Thank you ヾ(゚∀゚ゞ)

Not necessarily, it could signal a ghost or entity. While the open window may play a part, but just looking at the way the author delivered the scene makes me think otherwise. Like my other response, I think it would think it would be out of character / contradictory of Senzaki to comeback when he resolved to make a final disappearance just to come back? Senzaki is pure, unchained yet twisted. I think the idea that he became a ghost or demon is possible considering the author's writing style.

Of course! I think the weight of Senzaki's love and feelings of betrayal would do so. It's not impossible to do so, dead or alive! So it's up for interpretation and I love the author's writing style that allows that. But again, I think it's the idea of Senzaki as an entity who will never let him go or be happy and Tasumi accepting it is a symbol that's pointing us to the theme of the story as Blackdia pointed out. Tasumi is now free and stronger because he lost everything he had. He chose this. And while he lives his life like everything seems to be the way things are, he knows that he can never forget him nor will Senzaki allow that. Senzaki will never let Tasumi be happy without him or for betraying him and Tasumi has to live with that. It's a sense of freedom and grasp that is unique to Tasumi's situation in life, something that become one of his life motivation.

Cool. I kind of like the demon theory, but it would be very different for OC. I think until we see more, we are free to see it how we want to. (●'◡'●)

true. Let's just hope to see Karino and Azusa sometime soon.
I fell like I'm asking for too much.

Not too much--I also want them next. I am a bad fan because I confess that when I see a Red Theater update (which isn't to my personal tastes because the uke does everyone except the seme--I get the power game, but it's a turn off for me) I think--"The more time spent on that means less time on Azusa." Of course, OC has the right to spend her time any way she wants and never has to work on the story I care about, but still, I want Azusa too. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

damn, I don't want to built up illusions. I want to keep waiting quietly, and that requires to forget about Azusa. When I read a 20-pages short story that goes nowhere and even insinuates the doubt that the two might end up together, I feel like my usual aplomb is laughing at me straight to my face.
The "I want to believe" path is too emotively expensive for me. But I'll be the happiest around if they finally come back.

I feel you. Well, they will be together in fan fic, if not in canon (but I hope in canon too).
