I was ready to go full-hate on the ml after ch 49, but after ch 50? I can't with this mc. It's one thing if he was trying to run away because he feared how his master becoming similar to his father. Or if he finally wanted to free himself, make a living as a free man and then come back. But he escaped FOR his young master?? Nah. Sure, trauma, upbringing, whatever. Im just so mad right now. F this story. Then what's even the point in showing us how the master starts to resemble his father? Ha, is this parallel supposed to show us that the late master loved our mc, but then started to hate him? Obviously, no. Then what was that for.

Regardless of what we're thinking, the story clearly showed us that our mc (and people around) thinks he's starting to resemble him.

Actually it didn't, it showed it was just a trauma response from the bottom last chapter and is now DISPROVING that theory by the ML doing everything different from his father.

I mean, trauma response is still a reaction, even if his thoughts were incorrect, he still did think so. You can't say the theme wasn't there. And although you're most likely right that it was all done to disprove later and show us how different the father and son are, but like, really? Everything different? Sure, his father was much, much worse. Yet the mc still remains "below" in their current relationship. To me, it even seems like our ml still doesn't know about the debt and all, like he thinks the mc was just so loyal to his father, USED him and then killed. Otherwise, how do you explain why he stated in this chapter that mc was USING him too?? Like, what???

I mean if he doesn't understand and doesn't know about the debt and everything, how is that becoming his father? Genuinely asking, it's hard to place tone over text but I'm curious. Clearly we're all free to have our interpretations of course. I just think the son doesn't know what to do, and he didn't even get to face the consequences of his own actions against his father because PTSD kicked in for servant boy and he killed him instead. If the son doesn't know the extent of the PTSD how could he understand that moment? Yet he still fiercely protected the murder he may have thought used his dad? They've both been held captive by that mansion and that man in very different ways. But they do love each other, and every time the servant is honest what he wants is the son to stay with him. Tbh that's hard and confusing for the son too who can't really move on because he planned all this FOR the servant's freedom and it went to shit lol I just think people are being too hard on the son and that these two need to be open and honest with each other, because misunderstanding happens when you don't, and they have years of misunderstanding. I want them to be happy! Lol

Ok, I see your point (also, really thank you for a healthy discussion, I need more of these lol). I guess, I was too biased against the ml and let the story fool me, because I really didn't think about it like that, from his perspective. It seemed to me that he lacks basic human sympathy, but you're right. What else could he think if he clearly doesn't know the true nature of the mc's and his father's relationship? And about covering the murder... Okay, that's actually was a genius point, it instantly made me realize how narrow-minded was my thinking. But then - arghh, I hope they'll talk to each other openly soon, because this is killing me!! >< ...Well, we're probably all here for the angst, so it's okay, it can keep killing me lol
Then all that's left is really just to wait for the healing process to begin. If the story makes it right, it'd be so good. But if nooo... Well, we'll talk about it, if it happens haha.

I agree, we could use more healthy and respectful debates! I'm glad I could help you see a new perspective! I was mad at the son a few times too believe me, but I really think his heart is in the right place and that he doesn't have all the facts. Yeah they both need to be open and honest with each other already ┗( T﹏T )┛

The story really isn't bad. It's even better that it provokes so many emotions
