I'm I think you are 100% right, expressing concerns with words is a healthy way to maintain relationships.
I believe that purposefully pissing your significant other off enough such that they completely lose control isnt very healthy or a great way to build trust.
Was is because he's never seen him angry? Or that he never expressed his anger or having a hard time with him. He's always in his golden retriever mode, that him not expressing that side felt like he built a wall and denied access to that side of himself to his lover. Which is what I think the uke wanted the seme to do, but he wasn't going about it the right way. Could have just expressed that amd that he felted untrusted with not getting to see that side of his lover. But I could be wrong.
