I do not remember everything, but the old man was kind of exagerated. He was very old but not with one foot on the grave ಥ‿ಥ
Also, I didn't noticed before the amount of foreshadowing of the things that will happen very soon.
If I am correct, I think in the novel they are still kind of fighting when they get the message that the group they sent is in trouble. But don't mind me, I read that so long ago that I am not sure.
